Happy Easter

As soon as the sun was up this morning, Bekah woke me up and said "Mummy its EASTER NOW!" I told her that we needed to wake up Daddy, Madison, Alexander and Quinn before we went downstairs.
The livingroom had some nice surprises in it when the kids walked in. The Easter Bunny had filled up their baskets with some chocolate eggs, and some outside toys, art supplies etc. Quinn was very happy with his new Phantom of the Opera CD (original Toronto Cast version) Ever since we watched the movie with him he has fallen in love with the songs. He also got a baseball bat and ball for when the weather gets better.
Bekah got some cheerleading accessories. Pom poms, baton hair pieces etc. She also got her very first hoola hoop!
Madison got a basket filled with dog art supplies. It came with an artbook, markers and a stuffed dog.
Alexander got a nascar basket. (a bit young for him :( ) but last week the kids were given an xbox with the game Rockband. It is a great family game, we can all play and have fun with and its excellent because there is no killing, fighting etc. Its all about music. We have 2 guitars, vocals and drums. Madison loves to sing, Xander likes the guitar, and sings as well. Bekah has learned a couple songs by memory and can score a 75% singing on her own (she amazes me with her pitch!) Quinn is trying to figure out the drums and he likes to sing as well!
Each basket had a coloured plastic egg in it, which let them know what colour eggs they each had to find on the egg hunt in the house. (too much snow outside still to do one there :( )
The kids moved to fast for me to get some shots of them looking for the eggs, but they sure had fun!
Bekah sat down to open hers up and find the treasures inside.
Quinn started sneaking a few before we stopped him for breakfast.
Here are a few photos from this morning.

Bekah and Kathleen

On Sunday March 9th, after digging out from the snowstorm the day before, the girls, mum, Dbis, Megan and I went to a baby shower for our cousins wife and new baby girl Kathleen.

During the "pass the baby" time, Bekah got a chance to hold her. As soon as she was in her arms, people wanted pictures taken of our two miracle babies. We all know Bekah was 2 months early and made it through all obstacles with no issues. Kathleen had a very rough start to life, she was born with a skull fracture and had a stroke as well. She is an amazing little girl and is doing well.

The girls were just gazing at each other when Megan (using my D80 for the first time) snapped this shot for us. (I was helping Bekah hold the baby up)

With a lot of editing to get rid of the background and help from a very good friend of mine (thanks Shannon) we were able to create this beautiful picture. I just wanted to share it with everyone.
I have also added a shot of just Kathleen that I really like. Again thank you Shannon for help with the awesome editing!

LET IT SNOW

Let it snow, Let it snow......

That was what we were singing on Saturday March 8th, 2008! The Snow started Friday, stopped for a brief time and started up again Saturday morning. Eric went out and plowed the driveways and sidewalks and came in around 4 pm. All these photos were taken at 9 pm when we were out snow blowing again. You would never notice that it had be done 5 hours earlier. In total we were dumped on with close to 40 cm of snow in 24 hours and 65 cm since March 5th.
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the kids out in it, they really weren't interested in going out in it. I guess they have had enough of winter.
If you notice how high the snowbanks are around Eric as he blows it show you just how much fell. On our Deck my table and chairs were left out, you can just see the top of the highback chair. It was all we could do to open the door enough to shovel out the deck!
This truly has been a winter of storms and lots of snow dumped.
