New Toy

After months of researching, Eric and I decided to upgrade from our digital point and shoot to a digital SLR. While I had decided on a certain one, I was a bit distressed to find out it is back ordered until March. So after 2 hours of talking things over we made the decision to upgrade.

We purchased a Nikon D80 Digital SLR. We went with Nikon for many reasons 1)Quality 2)price 3)Knowledge of the cameras. Eric's Dad has Nikon Cameras, both 35mm film and Digital SLR.

We are in LOVE with our new purchase! We had Norm over today and we did some comparison shots from his Nikon D70 to our D80. I had a lot of fun learning things with Norm today and seeing the difference in colour and sharpness between the two models.
I am taking a camera course this coming Saturday to learn all about our new camera. Eric is already leaps ahead of me since he grew up around nice cameras. This is our Christmas gift to ourselves! (yes a bit after the fact, but the sale was better now :) ! )

I don't have many photos ready for posting, but one that I absolutely love is this one. I snapped it last night while I was playing around learning the camera. Bekah was giving her daddy, bedtime Kisses! I think it is the cutest picture. I decided to put it into black and white to just focus on them.

Bekah's Big Day!

Today was Bekah's first day at Pre-school! She has been so excited to go! We have been counting down the "sleeps" for 2 weeks now. She got up, had her breakfast, got dressed and was ready 40 minutes early.

Quinlan and I took her to school, where we found a hook with her name on it, and a cubby with her name on it as well. Her friend Molly was already there and was very happy to see that Bekah had arrived.

Bekah ran right into the classroom and jumped right in. I said goodbye and I love you to her, and I got a wave and a "bye Mummy". That was it, she was at school and mummy can leave anytime now....LOL.

I am so happy for her being such a big girl and very confident, I am also sad that my last baby has started her schooling. Where does the time go?

I took a photo of her in her new Dora clothes infront of our new fireplace.

New Years Day

When we woke up this morning we had a big surprise! It had snowed so much over night that we had to dig out again! I bundled up the kids and we went outside to play in the winter wonderland! While I snow blowed the driveway, the kids played in the yard! They were supposed to start making a snowman, instead they just played in the snow :) After the driveway was done, I found our sleds in the shed and we had some fun! Snickers came out with Madison so we turned her into a sled dog! Bekah had a blast being pulled by Snickers! Here is a video of our fun!

Eric and I are always helping out our neighbours with snow removal. Mr. and Mrs. Martin came outside to help us out :) Madison was shoveling their sidewalk while Eric started the Driveway. Quinlan and Bekah were right there playing and watching. I got some really nice photos of the kids today! The camera got a bit wet in the snow coming down, but it was nice to be outside having fun.

New Years Eve

We had a nice quiet night at home with Gramma, Grampa, Dbis, and us. Alexander decided to spend the night at a friends house.
We played on the Wii, Played Rumoli and ate lots of good foods. Bekah started to fall asleep 5 minutes before midnight, we managed to keep her awake so she could yell happy new year! Quinlan on the other hand fell asleep 15 minutes before and there was no way to wake him up :(
It was a very nice relaxing night at home with family.
Happy New Year everyone!

Random pictures

Yesterday afternoon, Madison was running around the house looking for Bekah. Bekah had found the perfect hiding spot.
Can you find the Bekah?

When we woke up yesterday morning there was a beautiful scene outside. The Trees were covered in ice or so we thought. I jumped out with my camera to take some photos. The Ice looked like little thorns up and down the branches.

Bekah was waiting so patiently for her turn on the Wii, but she was also very tired! She fell asleep on the couch hugging her wii mote and nunchuck!

Christmas 2007

Well Christmas has come and gone again! All the hype before it, getting stuff done, the rush the stresses...then it flys by!
This year was a good year for us, as we were NOT sick on Christmas.
Christmas eve afternoon saw our good friends Dave and Diane over for a visit. We only get to see them a couple times a year when they are in Ontario. They live in Vancouver. The kids call Dave, Big tall Dave! It isn't a visit with them without some good ole rough housing! Normally we are outside spinning off energy, but it was a bit cold this time. The kids had a blast! Thanks Dave and Diane for a wonderful afternoon. The kids slept so well for Christmas Eve!

This year I helped out with a Kids Choir at the church. There hasn't been one in many many years. We prepared 2 songs to sing at the christmas eve service. Bekah decided that she was going to be in the choir too, and by the end of the third rehearsal she had both songs memorized and could sing the right melody and in tune. This child amazes me more and more each day. Considering it was such a small group, they did extremely well. They were able to carry their voices over the church. The got a round of applause after each song! Way to go guys!

Christmas eve after church the kids open on package before bedtime. It is always some nice new jammies to sleep in. Alexander decided to be a goofball and do a funny dance before he put his jammie top on. I was able to capture this! I also have a video somewhere of it..LOL
Once jammies were on, stockings were out, cookies and milk ready, the kids went upstairs where Eric read them a christmas story. The rest of the night was so relaxing, just Eric and I sitting downstairs in the quiet! Again thank you Dave for making them SO TIRED!

Christmas morning we were all up at 6:30 am! The kids opened their stockings. Bekah and Quinn were so cute, they get so Excited at it all. Bekah took forever to get through hers as she examined everything with glee.
This year it was a shared "santa" gift. The jolly old elf gave them a Nintendo Wii for christmas.
I didn't get many photos this year as it was just so busy!
Megan was here by 6:50 and Gramma, Grampa, and Dbis were here by 7:30. It was busy but very fun.
Later we went to Megans for breakfast and the kids had more gifts there to open. Then it was time for some play time at home!
Dinner was at our house this year, Gramma cooked it all at her house and just warmed it up here!
Uncle Ron was here this year, and had christmas dinner with us. The whole family was together again. It was wonderful.
Bekah kept saying "my Uncle Ron was here!" we had to tell her he was everyones uncle Ron..lol.
So that was our very busy whirlwind day.
Looking forward to next year already!

Snow Storm 2007

Dec 16th was the snowiest day the kids have ever seen. Bekah and Quinlan were looking out the window watching the snow just come down.
Fortunately for me Bekah and Quinlan had both been sick and I was tending to them, so I didn't have to help shovel it all away!
This is our driveway about 4 hours into the storm.
