Flowers From Eric

As I settled into the computer to download the photos from Quinlan's party I was called by Eric to come out into the livingroom. I was very surprised to find these beautiful flowers on my mantel. I have such a wonderful husband!

Quinn Turns 6

Where does the time go? It is hard to believe that our Quinlan Bear turned 6 yesterday. He not only gets a Happy Birthday, but a Happy Valentines day! He started the morning out by opening gifts from us at home. Then he went got to share lunch with Emma, Natalia and Bekah. I shipped him off to school for his Valentines day party at school. Everyone wished him a happy birthday there as well. His teachers are really great and make a big fuss over him since his birthday falls on a day that is special for everyone. He came home with Birthday and valentines day cards.
As soon as everyone was home from school, we headed up to Kidzone in Waterloo for a fantastic party. The kids had a blast! They were able to run around and do what the needed to do..expend some energy.
We had the space room for his supper and cake and gift opening. He got lots of wonderful gifts. Thank you to everyone!

The Lightfoots Have a new Vehicle!

Eric and I have been thinking for a while what will happen when our lease is up on our van in June. Do we go down to one vehicle or lease something smaller? When Chrysler phoned last week to say that we could get out of our lease early with no penalties we thought well lets go have a look. We were offered a new 2008 van for cheaper then what we are paying now.
We LOVE the look of the new vans on the outside, but the insides have much to be desired. After test driving the van and looking at better package options, and seeing how much more it would cost us to upgrade, we decided against a new van.
As we were getting ready to leave the dealership, Eric, who Loves JEEPS says what about a jeep? At first I thought he was being silly, but the more we talked about it the more sense it made. There was one in the show room we had walked by a couple of times. We opened it up and took a good look at it. Then asked if we could test drive one off the lot. They didn't have any like it on the lot so the show room doors opened up and out we drove with the jeep! The instant I was in it, I was in LOVE! The seats were made for me. There was tons of room in the back. Decent trunk space, etc. It helped that it was just Eric and I to take it out without the kids, we were able to talk about it better and get a good feel for it. The price ended up being just right as well.
That was Thursday February 7. On Saturday Feb 9th we went to pick it up! After it was all done we went out for breakfast and got a call to come back to the dealership. We were getting an extra amount off and our monthly payment dropped by $31!
We are totally in love with our New Jeep Compass.

Singing at the Winterhawks game.

Madison's school choir got the chance to sing the National Anthem at a local Hockey game. Eric, Bekah and I went to support Madison and the choir. I was actually able to get right out on the ice and take some photos of the kids dropping the puck and the Choir singing. I was very pleased to be able to get these shots. I gave the full choir one to the school framed.
They Sang wonderfully! Way to Go Centennial!

More Time on her Bum!

On Friday February 8th, Madison's class went to the arena for an hour of skating. I went to take some pictures.

I soon found out that Madison spent most of the time on her bum then she did on her skates. Here are some of the pictures I was able to snap while the kids were whizzing past me.

Quinn the snowman!

Thursday Feb 7th was yet another "snow" day for us. Mum and Dad's snowblower was on strike, so after taking Bekah to school, Quinn and I drove over to Gramma and Grampa's house to help them clear the snow. I was going to see if I could fix the snowblower.
Quinlan brought his own shovel and was ready to work. Too bad he decided to clear the mountains of snow along the sidewalk where we were throwing the snow. He put more on the sidewalk as we tried to clear it.

I got some really nice shots of him today in the snow. My new camera continues to amaze me in quality of pictures, colour saturation and clarity. I am getting more and more comfortable with adjusting the settings on it to make the photo the way I want it!

SPA day!

Madison, Rebekah, Megan and I all went to the Village on the River Spa on Saturday. The girls were very excited about getting their finger/toe nails painted. They waited so patiently for it to be our turn.
Madison waited while Rebekah went first with Megan and I. The three of us sat up in the big chairs. Bekah was too small to reach the water, so they gave her a nice big "Royal Princess" pillow to lean on. It was just the right size. She was so comfortable with being pampered. They washed and rubbed her feet, then put on the pretty nail polish that Daddy and her picked out. Next it was over to the finger nail table. She sat as good as gold there too. Her fingers were done in the same colour as her toes.
When she was all done, she sat down and posed with her pretty fingers and toes. Then she had to come and sit with me and show me her nails. She was so Cute!
Madison loved it as well. She sat down and let them work away on her feet! I think she loved the massage she almost looked as though she would fall asleep.

Madison picked out her own nail colour. It was a bit more Pink then Bekahs. After her pedicure it was time for her manicure. She picked the moisturizer out and sat down for a nice pampering of her hands.

Megan and I just had a pedicure done. It was my my first one! Man does it feel wonderful. I am very ticklish on my feet and it didn't bother me at ALL! The Massage was amazing on my feet and calves. Megan and I sipped on a hot cinnamon drink while the ladies worked on our feet. I told the lady about my bad cramps in my one foot and she massaged it more where the occur. My feet felt so wonderul! I will definately do it again!
Eric and I were very pleased with how well the girls handled themselves. Bekah got a bit bored at the end while she waited for us to all finish, but for 3 years old she did amazing! Madison was a big help and sat patiently waiting for her turn. I will take both girls again for a girls day out.
The price wasn't bad either. $15 each for the girls. You really can't go wrong
