Day 7

I finally got some pictures done today. Although it was 7pm when I was able to get my camera out. I ran around the house like the papparazzi (sp?) Here are my sneaky photos.

This is Alexander playing online xbox. He is talking to someone on the headset. Love the totally relaxed look and no shirt!
Bekah being a total goofball in the kitchen while Eric was trying very hard to make dinner and not step on her.
I snuck into the dinning room and yelled BOO to Quinn and got this very good picture of him! After this he was trying to hide from the crazy woman with the camera.
Then he was doing the song "Hi my name is Joe and I work in a button Factory" He is pushing two buttons in this shot.
Then he went into the Kitchen trying to act grumpy. We weren't fooled though. He is trying very very hard to not laugh. I think this lasted all of 10 seconds! Then Daddy got the right tickle spot and the grumpy face was gone. My camera just about got kicked in the squirming that followed the tickles!

To close out the pictures tonight I have this one of Quinn and his Carey ( tenderheart bear that he calls Carey) Carey is very very well loved. He got him for his 5th birthday. Hard to believe that the bear is only coming up on 2 years old and looks like he does.
He sleeps with him everynight and even went to school for an entire year (stayed in his backpack)!

Day 6 and 7

Well I am finally feeling better!

To be honest though I can't remember now what I took on what days so I guess I will put the pictures together all in one post. I feel bad for missing some days, but when you end up on the couch for a couple of days, the thought of doing anything the requires thought and creativity is just draining!
Here are a couple of photos taken.

Bekah watching a movie. I don't think it looks very comfortable but apparently it is!

Zoomed out a bit more so you can see exactly how she was movie watching.

This is our makeshift bird feeder in our backyard. Its a good amount of snow piled on it! I guess the birds can't get at the seed.

Day 5

Unfortunatly I wasn't able to get any photos today. I spend the day on the couch with a fever, upset stomach and headache! It was not a good day to move!

I am hoping to capture some today as I am finally feeling like I can move around.

Day 4

Today we woke up to more snow. Thankfully the walk to school wasn't bad. It was quite warm actually!
After spending most of the morning inside playing with the kids, I decided it was time to go out and plow out the driveway.
The kids happily played on the trampoline and the slides while I did the driveway.

After the driveway was done we let Snickers out and played fetch with her. She is in LOVE with her fetch! This is her keep a close eye on who has her kong and where its going. If you look close enough I believe you can see Bekah and Connors reflections in her eye.

The kids and I thought it would be great fun to throw the fetch (her kong) into the deep snow and make her find it. Snickers dove into this head first.(Pun very intended!!!) A couple times the kids went on the treasure hunt with her.

Play!! Play fetch! Again with the concentration and watching the fetch. This dog is fixated on her fetch nothing you can do will break it.

These are my photos for the day. The white backgrounds with the dog are all natural white, heavy snow! Her dark colour on the white snow makes the photos pop for me!

Day 3

Today started out with Quinn and Bekah being home sick from school. This tummy bug going around right now is not very nice :(
After a bit of a lazy morning, I bundled the kids up and with Sue and Carter in tow, we went to Riverside Park in Preston.
Our goal today was to get some nice pictures of the kids and Sue feeding the chickadees!
These are some of the shots taken on the boardwalk around 10:30 am.

Carter got one to land on the tips of his fingers. All three kids stood so still and quiet!
This chickadee was having a good look at Sue before it took some yummy seed and nuts!

Coming in for a landing!

Taking off!

After spending about 30 mintues on the birds, we took the kids over to the playground area. Its so neat to watch kids learn how to do things while wearing full snow gear, boots, hats, mits, coats, snowpants. Even the simplest things become huge obstacles. They made it through the snow and had a great time on the creative.

Carter making room to sell some icecream. Anyone want some?
Bekah coming out of the tube slide head first! The look of glee on her face was priceless!Bekah climbing up to talk into the playground P.A. System! It was a mighty tough climb but we made it. Quinn and Carter in the ring climbI want to come too! Bekah struggle with the last few rings, but Sue was there to lend a helping hand and get her to the top!All in all it was a great day! The kids got some fresh cold air (which really helped them feel better) They got to feed the birds and feel them land on their hands. They played in the snow and on the equipment and tired themselves out!

I really dont' know which shot is my favourite for this day of photos. I would have to say that this one takes the cake. Its been fun but now its time to go! You can see my reflection in her eyes!

Day 2

I took a couple outdoor pictures today while trying to get a photo of my neighbour Sue feeding the chickadees. ( The chickadee's were not co-operating at all) This one is my favourite of the day. Its of a nice bright red male Cardinal sitting in the tree waiting for us to leave so he can get at the seed we brought. I did some editing to it and added a drybrush effect to it to make it look like a painting. I am in love with how this picture turned out.

The next picture is the original of the cardinal. It might be hard to see the difference from drybrush to orginal but there is one!

Its a new year....

...and I have a project to keep me busy. Its called Project 365. It really a neat idea, you take atleast 1 photo a day and publish it by either scrapbooking it or posting to a blog or face etc. At the end of the year you have an awesome documented history of the things you did, the things that matter to you most etc for the entire year. Everyday of the year you will know something that you did on that day and can look back and say oh thats what I did!
You also use your camera more, learning more things about it, more things about photography, lighting, and become more creative in your shots.
I actually started taking photos a few days ago, but I will start posting a picture from Yesterday afternoon.

Bekah hasn't been feeling well for a couple of days now. I was doing some work on the computer while she was watching a movie. When I went out to check on her this is what I found. She LOVES her big bear named Beary and whenever she isn't well he comes off her bed onto the couch for cuddle time. This bear is 2 times the size of her. She sure is looks comfy!
